# Authentication

#### API Keys

To use the DRESSX paywall API, you need an API key.

Open the DRESSX API Dashboard:

[https://dashboard.dressxagent.com](https://dashboard.dressxagent.com/dashboard)

If you are not signed in, you will be redirected to the login page. After signing in, open the Dashboard page and copy your API key from the **API Keys** section.

API keys use the following format:

drx_live_1234567890abcdef1234567890ab888f1234567890abcdef
```

If a request is made without a valid API key, the API will return an authentication error.

**Using API Keys**

For paywall API endpoints, send your key in one of these headers:

```http
Api-Key: drx_live_1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef
```

or:

```http
X-Api-Key: drx_live_1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef1234567890abcdef
```

Example:

#### Security

Keep your API key private. Anyone who obtains your API key can use it to access the DRESSX API on your behalf.

If you suspect your API key has been compromised, contact your DRESSX administrator or manage access through the dashboard:
